You will find Europe’s highest Thermal hot spring fountain in Hintertux – 1500m above sea level, the water is of particularly good-drink quality containing sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, sulfate and bicarbonate.

This natural gift has been used for over 350 years. In 1600, Mr. Burglechner wrote about this hotspring, "Wildpad in Wildentux" (wild bath in the wild Tux). Since it was difficult to access the area at that time,the thermal hot spring was used only for swimming. Health establishments were not created until 1847.

The thermal water is suitable, according to Univ.-Doz. Dr. Georg Mutschlechner, "for not so strong rheumatic diseases, injuries, “consume” diseases, reversible age complaints and fatigue..."
